A green route for a softer journey
Our work, transporting goods, makes us feel a strong responsibility for the environment. As one of the industry´s largest companies we have an obligation to develop methods and technologies so as to achieve a harmonious interplay with our living environment. Despite the fact that the area is developing fast, much still remains to be done.
FoodTankers works methodically with an allround approach so as to identify, measure and control our impact on the environment. The environmental management system is certified according to ISO 14001 and this includes an undertaking to continually improve our obligations to the environment. This may concern training to reduce fuel consumption and hence the discharge into the air, investing in the latest technology when a fleet of vehicles is renewed, or reducing risks when storing and handling fuel or detergent. We naturally provide open information about our environmental work and results.
IT systems and mobile communications help us to reduce the impact on the environment by facilitating efficient planning.
It is not in fact we who make the real contribution to the environment; rather it is you, the customer. It is only when you call us in that our efforts can benefit the environment.
